Akis Candle Holder by Angel des montagnes
Inspired by the Japanese art of "Kintsugi," which means repairing a crack with gold, this collection captures the poetic idea of taking a broken object and turning it into something even more beautiful.
This object is the result of a unique and intricate artisanal process that involves pouring metal into the hollow cavity of an old or dead acacia trunk or branch.
The molten metal is poured into the wood at approximately 870 degrees Fahrenheit. Upon contact, the hot liquid dries out the wood, creating a layer of burned black charcoal that adds an additional aesthetic element. Each piece is one of a kind.
