Our Bloom series is made using the lost wax technique. As with the manufacture of batik in textiles, the pattern is applied to the unglazed porcelain with the help of a stamp and wax, after which the piece is immersed in a reactive glaze. This, in turn, is fired at a very high temperature, causing the wax to melt away, revealing the pattern, and giving the glaze a certain thickness. These references are characterized by an interlocking circular pattern on the inside and outside that appears in between the layers of bronze-green glaze.
