The fabric Yei by Casamance belongs to the Hozho collection. For the Navajo, hozho is an invitation to live in harmony, respecting the balance of nature. Visually symbolised by woven patterns, each line and each design leads to beauty. The collection cultivates this philosophy by offering a slection of outdoor fabrics inspired by these figures. They have excellent colorfastness when exposed to light, good resistance to chlorinated and seawater, mildew and are quick-drying. Perfectly suited to life in the open air.
In Navajo history, the Yei are deities who mediate between humans and spirits. They inspire Amerindian crafts, notably rugs woven in a multitude of colours. The Yei fabric is a cut-thread jacquard made from fancy curly threads. It gives the impression of having been embroidered, giving it an artisanal look.
