Rug Botanic

Rug Botanic by Chilewich. The rug Botanic is a fresh perspective on floral motifs, featuring a deconstructed bouquet brought to life on the loom. The thoughtful application of color adds dimension to this versatile and lively weave.

Having previously explored florals through printed and molded textiles, our design team set out to push the boundaries of weaving—and creativity. Botanic was developed through a playful and iterative process that began with a trip to New York's Flower District. Back at the studio, a variety of stems were arranged on paper.  These compositions were then covered in a coat of spray paint. When the flowers were lifted away from the painted paper, their silhouettes remained.

The works on paper were photographed and then the compositions were collaged digitally. Finally, the image was translated into a woven jacquard, its playful blooms enlivened through unexpected color.

Product care :

• Vacuum to remove loose dirt
• If necessary, clean with a residential carpet cleaner or wet mop the surface. Lift the mat off the floor and allow face and backing to air dry completely before placing the mat on the floor again.
• Blot spills quickly with a lint-free cloth. Should a stain occur, scrub with a soft bristle brush and a bleach-based cleanser; this will remove the stain without altering the fabric.
• Do not iron. Do not machine wash.
• Avoid use of rubber castors or placing objects made of rubber on the woven floor mat, discoloration will occur.
• When moving or storing, roll up your mat with weave facing outward

We recommend you occasionally lift and air out your woven floor mat.
